Ia tertarik untuk angkat isu berkebun sebagai bentuk perlawanan kepada Israel.
Perjuangan Medo Halimy untuk menyuarakan kebebasan Palestina harus terhenti karena mendapatkan luka parah dalam serangan udara di Gaza.
Ia wafat setelah mengalami koma sebelumnya.
